How AND and OR and IF works

  • What do AND and OR do?

    They combine several yes-or-no questions into one:

    • AND(B2>=500,C2>=2) is TRUE only when every question is TRUE.
    • OR(B2>=500,C2>=2) is TRUE when at least one question is TRUE.

  • How do you use them inside IF?

    On their own they show TRUE or FALSE. Put one inside IF as the question to show something more useful:

    =IF(AND(B2>=500,C2>=2),"Yes","No")
